DESCRIPTION
The Marriot Son Antem golf resort is great for golfers looking for a long weekend break, some relaxing holiday golf and the comforts of a modern resort. The resort is a little isolated from the major night spots and would best suit couples or golfers who want a couple of decent rounds without any traveling.
Both courses are usually in excellent condition. Tee shots or not to challenging and the greens are relatively large. Ideal for mid to high handicappers. Barring any major disasters you should return quite a healthy card.
These two course along with the developments of Son Gual, Golf Park Puntiro and the existing courses on the coast have really made the East of the island a choice destination for the serious golfer.
The resort itself is a large Marriot development and offers the same feel and service of their other European golf resorts.
The East course was the first of the two courses to be built on the Son Antem development. It is generally thought to be the easier of the two tracks.
Design by the Spanish golf architect Fransisco Lopez Segales in a American style with open landing areas and approach shots to well bunkered and water protected greens.
The land around here is flat, so quite a bit of earth moving has gone in to moulding the greens. A number of water hazards have been incorporated into the design to make up for the unexciting terrain.
The course is an easy work and the route has been mapped out into two looped nines returning to the hotel.
The most challenging part of the East course is the middle section. Notably the 6 th and 7th, the latter being a short par 4 with water running down the left and then swinging around to the back of the green catching anything that is too long.
