The eastern part of the island is less developed than the south west and quieter.
The courses are newer and the flatter landscape has allowed the designers to build some challenging and exciting layouts.
There are a cluster of excellent courses on the Eastern cape. Capdepera, Canyamel, Pula are all good quality courses.
North East near the popular coastal town of Alcudia is the Alcanada course. A fine Robert Jones Trent junior course, with some stunning sea views.
Two of the Islands finest courses are just east of Palma. Golf Park Puntiro, a great value championship course and the prestigious Son Gual, one of Spain’s top new courses. Both are easily accessible if you are staying east of the capital.
The courses in this area are focused more on good holiday golf. The social scene is tamer compared to some of the more lively areas on the Western side, but nevertheless a base in Alcudia will provide all the holiday entertainment you require.
There are some great local restaurants and small hotels to be found on the small coves and town to the east. However for a bit more nightlife the costal town of Alcudia would be the place to stay.
