The all-new Trafic, the result of joint-venture with Vauxhall (Vivaro) and built in Luton.
Beneath the striking bodyshell on the entry models lurks a state of the art 1.9-litre common rail turbodiesel, available with two power outputs; 82 bhp and 100 bhp. Peak torque of 140 lb/ft and 177 lb/ft occurs at 2,000rpm respectively. A 120 bhp petrol option is also available. The lowest power engine has a five-speed manual gearbox while the other two benefit from six ratios.
A 2.5-litre dCi 16-valve common rail direct injection diesel, offers 133 bhp at 3,500rpm, with 228 lb/ft of torque on tap at a usefully low 2,000rpm.
The diesels are excellent with plenty of torque available across the rev range. They are also remarkably quiet and free of vibration. The six-speed 'box provides a slicker gearchange than the five-speeder, though.
